A number of artists, filmmakers, scholars and community members have come together to make this event possible. Following a successful June 2002 Armenian Film Festival in New York, and a February 2004 Armenian Film Fetival in San Francisco, the same curatorial team is presenting the 2006 Armenian Film Festival in San Francisco. An open call for submissions resulted in numerous entries from around the world. The final selections include short and feature length, experimental and narrative, documentary and fictional, student and professional films and videos from Armenia, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.
